Setting an icon

SOLVED

I'm hoping tha someone that knows the system better than I can help me. My basic question is: How do I set an icon for a category?

We have a category that display tiles that act as links to subcategories. You can see it here:  https://community.softwaregrp.com/t5/Protect724/ct-p/Protect724 and you can see that those tiles have icons for each of the sub categories.

I need to add a new category tile. I don't know how to set and icon for the new category. I'm not a developer, but it appears from the code that the icon is being pulled using a query to get "c_category_icon" from the "categories" table.  How do I set that icon so it's in the table to query out?  Here is the code in a custom component that we use to create those tiles:

<#include "common_var" />
<#assign qry = "SELECT short_title, description, view_href, c_category_icon FROM categories WHERE id IN ('arcsight', 'atalla', 'fortify', 'technology-alliances', 'voltage')" />
<#assign subCats = executeLiQLQuery(qry) />

<#if subCats?size gt 0>
<div class="section group custom-component-protect724-subcats">
        <#list subCats as subcat>
        <a class="col" href="${getFieldValue(subcat.view_href)}" target="_top">
                <img src="${getFieldValue(subcat.c_category_icon)}">
                <h5>${getFieldValue(subcat.short_title)}</h5>
                <p>${getFieldValue(subcat.description)}</p>
        </a>
        </#list>
</div>
</#if>

Any help would be greatly appreciated. - Kim

...but that doesn't tell me WHERE to set the individual icons.  I'm still looking for an answer. :-\

Oh my goodness, I'm super excited to learn about this ability to create custom category icons. Is there a similar ability with individual boards?

I do not see this "Settings list editor" of which you speak. Do I need to get that enabled by support, perhaps?

@CarolineS- Yes, this is custom functionality which you need to request from lithium support, They will add a custom field for the category object and board object.

In @kgroneman case, c_category_icon is a custom field.

SELECT short_title, description, view_href, c_category_icon FROM categories

Also, you can achieve this with alternative ways.

1. Upload the icon with the same name as category id and in your HTML do something like below.

<img src="/html/assets/${coreNode.id?lower_case}.png" />

2. Use a custom content

    You can store the icon URL on a custom content as well, which you can expand at board level as well.

Give kudos if you find my posts helpful or mark solution if it answers your query.
