Hewlett Packard Enterprise accelerates business. We help customers use technology to slash the time it takes to turn ideas into value. In turn, they transform industries, markets and lives.
Some of our customers run traditional IT environments. Most are transitioning to a secure, cloud-enabled, mobile-friendly infrastructure. Many rely on a combination of both. Wherever they are in that journey, we provide the technology and solutions to help them succeed.
HPE recently transitioned to a “digital first” marketing model that is now core to all communications. The HPE Community is an integral part to this new digital model. This transition has brought more focus to our content strategy and is helping us to streamline our User Experience on all platforms including our Community. The Lithium platform is key to this digital first transformation and is:
The results of this transformation are already starting to demonstrate impact. We have increased views to our community landing page by 56%, we have grown membership by 66% in Q1’17 compared to Q1’16. Our blogs are more streamlined and are able to drive more organic traffic, and finally an increase of 18% for resolution to problems our customers are trying to solve with our technology.
Based on members’ feedback and request, the redesign gave us an opportunity to consolidate all our HPE Blogs into the HPE Community thereby creating a single instance. With a more visual design than previously, we drove a stronger governance model for our bloggers and blog articles.
We added many new design features, such as:
Our community was redesigned late 2015 with the help of Lithium Professional Services and our agency, to support the launch of the new Hewlett Packard Enterprise company following the split from HP.
The redesign aligned and complemented the new company branding which was integrated across the entire community. This design enabled us to showcase our key editorial articles and UGC, through our HPE Bloggers and our Community Members.
The outcome of the new branding and design, has provided a high volume of traffic to our community attracting new registrations, enabling members to easily find solutions to problems in the forums, consequently reducing our support costs by several million. We achieved the following growth in FY16:
Our first quarter in FY17 (Nov 2016 to Jan 2017) has continued this growth:
New home page for launch – showing carousel banner (rotating), stick navigation and core content
